Yvette Mayfield

Yvette was born and raised in Kern County and moved to Taft in 2009 when she married. She started her career in finance, but left the world of finance in 2001 to start a career in municipal government. She came to work for the City of Taft in 2013 as a part time grant administrator, then in early 2014 was hired full time as the Municipal Records Administrator for the City and soon after was appointed to fill the vacated City Clerk position. Since obtaining the City Clerk position, Yvette has earned both her Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC) and Master Municipal Clerk (MMC) designations through the International Institute of Municipal Clerks.

In 2004 Yvette received an award of recognition from Kern COG for Exemplary Community and Public Service and in 2017 was honored to receive the Business Women of the Year recognition from the Chamber. Yvette currently fills the City’s position on the Chamber Board and is a member of the Kiwanis Club of Taft having served as president in 2019/2020.
